About Michael D. Tracy

Michael D. Tracy is the owner and sole partner of this law firm. He is a member of the bar of Washington State and California. After law school at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington he practiced real estate law in Spokane, Washington for seven years. He also has experience in the mortgage business and title insurance business.

Upon relocating back to his home state of California in 1986 he worked with a prominent law firm in the real estate litigation field for a year, then again formed his own firm. In association with long time Sacramento attorney Archibald Mull, III one particularly large and difficult case was won in Federal Court in Fresno, and then upheld on appeal after argument before a panel of federal appeals judges in San Francisco.

That case involved the anti-deficiency statute ( a law that states that even if foreclosed property is worth less than the mortgage, the holder of the mortgage cannot sue the owner for the difference) as it applies to a corporate guarantor of a purchase money mortgage. The case was published and can be found at: Paradise Land and Cattle Company v. McWilliams Enterprises 959 F.2d 1463 (9th Circuit, 1992).

While working in the general civil litigation field with an emphasis on real estate matters, more and more injury claims began coming to the firm. A second office was opened in South Sacramento to service the Vietnamese community in that area.

The firm employs two Vietnamese natives, Randy Ha a paralegal, and Mimi Huynh, our receptionist and secretary. Randy Ha is primarily involved in meeting with Vietnamese clients regarding the initial facts of a particular claim. He will also investigate claims by speaking with witnesses, photographing accident sites and damaged vehicles.

The firm also employs Sondra Lee as a paralegal to assist in preparation of insurance settlement packages and bankruptcy filings.
